Oregon Rail Heritage Center

May 17,2024

The Oregon Rail Heritage Center (ORHC) is a railway museum located in Portland, Oregon, that opened in September 2012. This volunteer-run museum showcases three vintage steam locomotives owned by the City of Portland, and their restoration work is exceptional, as all three locomotives are fully operational. ORHC also displays various railroad equipment, artifacts, and historical information. A significant section of the building features a workshop with an extensive collection of tools used for restoration work.

Below are some photos of the three fully restored locomotives on display at the museum. (We should have taken some pictures of their workshop, as some of the equipment looked as vintage as the steam engines.)
