Galley Kettles and Refrigerators

This appears to be a specialized food preparation area aboard the USS Midway, likely used for bulk cooking operations such as soup, stew, and sauce preparation using the large steam kettles visible in the image. The industrial refrigeration units would have stored ingredients. The steam cooking equipment allowed galley staff to prepare large quantities of liquid-based dishes, broths, and sauces to feed the ship's crew.
On the right side of the photo, there appears to be a commercial potato peeler or vegetable preparation food processor. In the image's center are industrial cooking kettles or steam-jacketed kettles.
