Flight Suits

(Click on Picture to Bring Up Full Image)

These are standard-issue olive green and gray naval aviation flight suits and helmets worn by Navy and Marine Corps aviators. The helmets display squadron-specific designs and markings, with several featuring distinctive green and white checkerboard patterns commonly used by certain squadrons for quick visual identification during flight operations. Various patches and wings on some suits indicate the wearer's qualification level, squadron assignment, and other achievements. Flight suits like these are functional garments designed to be fire resistant (made from Nomex material), provide multiple pockets for survival gear, allow freedom of movement in the confined cockpit, and integrate with other equipment such as G-suits and harnesses.
