The Flight Maintenance Office on the USS Midway coordinated all aircraft maintenance activities, ensuring readiness and compliance with Navy standards. It tracked maintenance status, managed schedules, facilitated parts requisition, and served as the liaison between squadrons, the Air Department, and support teams to maintain aircraft in mission-capable condition.
