Electronic Warfare

The Electronic Warfare (EW) room on the USS Midway monitored, analyzed, and responded to electromagnetic emissions from potential threats. Personnel identified radar, communication, and guidance signals, assessed threat levels, and recommended or executed appropriate countermeasures, such as jamming, deception, or deployment of chaff and decoys. The EW room supported situational awareness, early warning, and self-defense by coordinating with ECM systems and other warfare areas.
