Briefing Room

(Click on Picture to Bring Up Full Image)

This is a ready room or briefing room on the USS Midway that was used for mission briefings where pilots and aircrews would gather before flights to receive mission details, tactical information, post-mission debriefings, operational planning by squadron commanders, and ongoing training and education of flight crews. The brown leather seats are arranged in a classroom style configuration with each seat labeled for specific roles (visible labels include "OPS" for Operations, "XO" for Executive Officer), ensuring key personnel were always in designated positions during briefings. The unit emblem/squadron patch on the wall may indicate that this room was likely assigned to a specific squadron. Ready rooms fostered unit cohesion for each squadron aboard the carrier.
