Barber Shop

The USS Midway maintained a barbershop to serve its crew. Located within the ship's interior spaces, the barbershop featured multiple barber chairs and was staffed by Navy personnel trained in barbering skills. The Navy trained sailors as barbers through specialized schools and on-the-job training programs. Barbering was considered an important military skill because maintaining proper grooming standards was essential for discipline, hygiene, and morale.
